There are many exciting opportunities for giving to the UCF Libraries. These include two scholarship funds, special collections, a proposed building expansion, and the Information Alliance.

Building Expansion, Gallery and Special Collections Areas
Within the next 3-5 years, the library will begin the planning stage of its second expansion. In addition to more collaborative study areas and book stacks, the expansion will house an art gallery, the refurbished special collections area and a media services center. In addition, there are named gift opportunities for the gallery, the special collections area, the media services center and for the library itself.
Endowments
Endowments to provide funds for the purchase of materials to augment the library’s collection and to provide state-of-the-art computer hardware and software are encouraged. A library resources endowment would enable the library to increase access to electronic information and enhance its print collection. An endowment in support of the library’s growing Book Arts collection would enable the library to build and maintain the outstanding collection the library is building in conjunction with the university’s art department. Endowments for the purchase of state-of-the-art computer equipment and software would enhance the services provided to library patrons.
Information Alliance
The Information Alliance is a group of individuals, businesses, and corporations committed to assisting the UCF Library in its endeavors to provide the most up-to-date information and technology to UCF students, faculty, researchers and the community. Any individual or business is invited to join the Information Alliance. Annual membership is $1000 and all members will be listed on the UCF Library’s web site.
Scholarships
The library is currently the only unit on campus that offers scholarships to its student assistants. The Lois Holt Scholarship and the June Stillman Scholarship are available in the spring to library student assistants who have worked at the library for three semesters. The June Stillman Scholarship was established in memory of June Stillman, charter faculty and one of the first librarians hired by UCF - called Florida Technological University, at that time. The library would welcome other endowed scholarships.
Simulation and Training Collection
The library is establishing a collection to support the Institute for Simulation and Training. Our goal is to make this the premier collection of this type in the country. A specialized research collection will help continue to attract high caliber faculty and graduate students to UCF and Central Florida. This collection is available for naming by a special donor.
Special Collections
Special Collections houses the library’s Book Arts, Bryant West Indies collection, and Latin American art collections as well as other rare and unique materials. It also houses the historical archives for UCF dating back to its inception in 1963. Special Collections is also home to what is believed to be one of the largest collections of original communist and socialist pamphlets from the 1920’s and 1930’s. The Special Collections room is available for naming by a special donor.
