Library Instruction is beneficial to all students. Learning together as a group reduces some of the stress and anxiety students may have when trying to learn about the libraries' various resources. Our instruction sessions are customized presentations, with hands-on training when possible, specifically tailored to your class's assigned research. Students learn to select, evaluate, and use electronic and print resources for their research. Classes are held in the library's electronic classrooms or, when necessary, your classroom.
We recommend scheduling at least 2 weeks in advance in order to allow us to prepare for the class and to honor your preferred time. Our busiest time is the first 2 months of each semester. It is strongly recommended that faculty attend with their students; your presence emphasizes the importance of research in higher education. It is also an opportunity for you to remain informed about the rapid changes in research resources, especially in electronic format.
Our instruction request form has changed since Spring 2008. We invite you to look over our improved Instruction Menu. We are offering several new menu items for you to choose from. Please fill out the Contact & Class Information section and then choose your main entrée from our 3 sections; Knight Favorites, Combinations, or New Specialty Items. The UCF Librarians look forward to working with you and your students throughout the semester. So go ahead and place your order(s) and a librarian will contact you once your order is filled! Feel free to contact us at 407-823-5880 if you have any questions.
