Other Information

UCF is a member of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP), Florida Public Documents Depository Program (FPDDP), and Patent and Trademark Depository Library Program (PTDLP). Through these depository library programs UCF receives non-classified United States and State of Florida documents. The Documents Area is located on the 2nd floor (entrance level) of the UCF Library, adjacent to the Reference Desk.

Checking Out Materials

All government publications are available for on-site use by the university community and the general public. Most documents are available for checkout to UCF students, faculty, staff, and holders of "Special Borrower's Cards."

Federal Documents

UCF receives approximately 88.6% of Federal publications distributed through the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Documents in every subject area are collected. The Federal government now publishes much of its information on the Internet. The Federal Government Information and Related Resources page provides easy access to the most frequently utilized Federal Internet resources.

Florida Documents

Since 1967, the UCF Libraries have collected public documents distributed by the State Library of Florida. Most State of Florida agencies and departments are now on the Internet. The Florida Government Information and Related Resources page provides links to key State of Florida Internet resources. Internet resources for some Florida counties and municipalities are identified on the Local Government Information and Related Resources page.

Locating Documents

The Documents Area is located on the 2nd floor (entrance level) of the UCF Library, adjacent to the Reference Desk. Some documents may be in one of the microfiche collections or shelved on another floor in the General Collection of the UCF Library, so please ask at the Reference Desk for assistance in locating specific documents.

Many documents that are available at the UCF Library are not yet listed in the UCF library catalog, but you might be able to identify the appropriate call number for the UCF Library's collection through another library's catalog. For Federal documents, consult the University of Florida Library catalog, or the Catalog of United States Government Publications at GPO Access. For State of Florida documents, consult the the Florida Documents Index.

Consult the Databases & Indexes and Other Resources & Subject Guides for some of the other resources that may be useful in your research.

The UCF Library has many other resources not listed on these web pages, so please ask at the UCF Library's Reference Desk for additional assistance.

Reference Assistance

Assistance with documents research is available at the UCF Library's Reference Desk.
