Application Guidelines

  1. Photos/slides or digital images of examples of the items to be displayed must accompany this application.
  2. A resume of the artist or the organization’s mission statement must accompany this application.
  3. If interested in the art wall, a to scale diagram of the art wall (third page of this application) with dimensions of each exhibit piece must accompany this application. (This is to ensure that you have enough materials to completely fill the art wall.)

Requirements for Approved Exhibits

  1. Explanatory/narrative text to accompany exhibit must be submitted 12 weeks before the exhibit. The narrative text shall be clear and concise, indicating provenance, background of the artist and/or group and theme. The text must be professional in format and presentation and suitable for public display.
  2. If brochures will accompany the exhibit, a copy must be submitted 12 weeks before the exhibit.
  3. The exhibit must have a professional appearance.
  4. Mounting and dismounting of exhibits/displays are the responsibility of the exhibitor.
  5. Exhibits must be mounted on schedule or the reservation may be forfeited. Exhibit set up usually occurs on the first business day of the month. If this is not doable, an alternative time is possible provided it is scheduled with the exhibits committee ahead of time.
  6. Exhibits must be dismantled on schedule. The Library will not be responsible for storage of exhibits not removed on time and no storage facility is available. Exhibit breakdown usually occurs on the last business day of the month. If this is not doable, an alternative time is possible provided it is scheduled with the exhibits committee ahead of time.
  7. All costs (labor, equipment, supplies, signs, labels, insurance, etc.) associated with a display will be the responsibility of the exhibitor.
  8. The Library and the University assume no liability for losses or damages to materials exhibited.

If selected to exhibit in the UCF Library, I agree to abide by the attached regulations and requirements and the Library’s policies and procedures. I also agree to allow my name and images from my display to be used on the Library’s web site and on any promotional materials.
